hi guys, i have a vl calais i am picking up on good friday. the car has been paid for and collected but is at my parents house at the moment. just a quick question as the only mods i have ever done before now are audio and electrical. teh calais doesnt have the original mags, so i have bought a set of calais rims to fit on it. it still has the original hubs. my question is - do i need to find a set of original wheel nuts? would the nuts have been chnged? [the rims on it were there in 1990 when the car was bought.] if so are calais wheel nuts any different to other vl nuts? can i just go to the wreckers and get a set from a vl with standard steelies? is there anything else i should know? thanks in advance for any help!

thanks vlhero, i just remember a mate years ago lost a wheel at 110km in his ute, blamed it on not changing wheel nuts when he changed rims. then again he is the kind of guy who probably didnt do them up tight enough.

There are two different styles of wheel nuts. Just make sure they are the type that taper down towards the wheel.
