Hi guys, Its been ages since I've posted on here but I just picked up another VL and need a little help. Its an 86 manual executive. Anyway, the car runs great but at around 80km/h it gets a bit of a vibration. Nothing major but you can feel it up to about 90km/h. When I put the clutch in and just coast along at idle, it's still there so I don't think its the engine or gearbox. Could it be something as simple as old tyres, which they are? Cheers!

could be tyres out of balance or need wheel alignment. or worse you need to adjust your front bearings as on aged vls they can work themselves a bit lose in the hub but that contributes mainly to a brake shudder feeling. if anything jack the car up and move the tyre up and down and side to side and if you feel any movement then its the hubs if not it could be just your ****ty tyres being out of balance or unevenly worn.

if its through your steering wheel it will just be out of balance wheels. it wont be your centre bearing cos you will hear that clunk under take of same as the unis will click and it wont be a wheel bearing problem because its impossible for them to work loose

I would say tyres or wheels. Check front tyres for any defects (egg-like bumps).

I had a fairly violent steering wheel shudder at 100kms and it was just unbalanced wheels.
