Hey guys I have a microtech lt8s and a crane hi 6 ignition unit and would like to know what is the pickup wire that triggers the hi 6 to tell the coil when to do its thing. Hope someone can help as we are stuck at this point and cannot go any further with the wiring. Hope this makes sense and I cant fire this thing after 2 years off the road without this sorted.
Cheers Dave.
step 1) wire up the microtech completely.
step 2) unplug the wires from the coil.
step 3) wire the negative wire to the white wire on the crane hi6. DO NOT hook up the purple/green magnetic pickup wires at all. You can also use the positive wire from the coil as the 'on' source for the hi6.
step 4) run the correct + and - wires from the hi 6 to your coil.
step 5) increase plug gap and boost and do big burnouts
as per http://www.cranecams.com/pdf/90006000c.pdf use 'figure 2'.
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

still need the ignition module. CAS gives the microtech the signal and the module tells the coil when to fire. But in your case, you will be putting a hi6 in between the coil and the module to boost the spark. The hi6 does nothing more than amplify the spark in your case so you still need the module to tell it when to work.
like i said, wire up the microtech 100% how it should be done as if the hi6 wasnt there, then when that is done, hook up the hi6. LX92 coil doesnt make a difference, it still just has a + and - like any other coil.
