just wondering how much a standard bottom end rebuild for a vlt motor will cost?

I'm not 100%, but when my VLT motor got rebuilt it came close to 5k. But that was a full blueprint, new injectors, replaced pretty much everything, motor balanced blah blah. So not that much, but I would think it would be into the thousands.

something around $1700 you can get a 9 sec engine for 5k

Where could you get a 9sec engine for 5k!? Anyway, I'm not fussed since I didn't pay for it. Done before I got it. Think the rebuild itself came to $2,200 or close to it. Thats fully balanced also. Then brand new injectors, were like $800 just for them plus a heap of other stuff, maybe more repairs at the same time? Thats probably why the total was closer to 5k, I'll have to have a good look at the receipts when I go home anyway.

Have it looked at 1st before you decide to get your bottom end rebuilt. An yeah, I agree with PLATNUM, $1,700~$1,800 drive in/drive out sounds about right just for that if you look around.

For a std rebuild with new std pistons ,Rings , mains and big ends, plus you need a balance will cost you around 1500 to 2500 thats if you pull the engine out and deliver it to them and even cheaper then that if you pull it down for them
