Hey guys, i'm looking at buying some aftermarket 20in wheels. They are RJR wheels and old stock at that in a commodore pattern (not RJR wheels that are avaliable now, the last series). I was told that the bloke had them on a VE commodore for about 3000ks and has now swapped them for a different set of 20's.
From my knowledge the VE has a different offset/pattern? Is that right?
Plus with the age of the mags, i don't even think the VE's were around then, so chances are they wouldn't be a 'VE' pattern as such. I was also told they wouldn't fit on a VP due to the rear guard, but i don't know how true that is (not that that matters to me having a VS)
Will these fit my VS commodore (with IRS, ultralow rear, superlow front)?
If they are a VE offset, will they still fit? Will i have any issues?
Am i up for any surprises?
Just wanna know before i go forking out my hardearnt and have issues.
Cheers guys,
Ush
From what the bloke has told me so far,
the rims are 20x8
the tyres are hankook 235/35/r20
havn't been given an offset, i'll see if i can find that out.
and the suspension i am running in the VS is kingspring ultralows in the rear with 4bush camber kit and in the front i am running kingspring superlows.
These are my thoughts…
The tyres are too big. 225/30R20 fronts and 235/30R20 rears would be better
20x8 should be ok provided the offset is between 45p-40p
235/45R17 – 25.33” overall rolling diameter (factory VR/VS HSV size)
235/30R20 – 25.55” overall rolling diameter (closest match)
235/35R20 – 26.48” overall rolling diameter (your guy)

The wheels will fit no worries, they are the same offset. As for the fit you you will need to get the front gaurds rolled for a little extra clearance but thats piss easy. Wanna sell me the camber kit ? :P

He hasn't stated offset yet, so what the fark are you talking about?
ok guys, talked to the bloke again,
wheels are 20 x 8.5
stud pattern is 5 x 120
couldn't tell me the offset
the tyres are hankook
245/35/20 with a speed/load rating of 94.
thats all he can give me... story keep changing... i'll just have to put them on the car and see i guess....
cheers all,
Ush
The offset should be stamped on the back of the wheel. If you can trial fit them before you pay then that is the best option

Why do you bother posting in this thread?
