Hey guys, my car recently decided to start running a bit **** one morning and its been like it since. basicly when just crusing along at a constant speed it will start to cough and splutter and just not be very nice. I notice i got some black smoke coming out my exhaust, and also the smell of petrol going thru a cat convertor smell... I've tried different o2/afm/computer and i've checked for air intake leaks, and can't find any. My CAS is only about a year old. One thing i noticed today tho was my cat convertor on my exhaust was getting really hot. I took my car for a drive around the block to see if it was still ****ty (and it was) and i parked my car again and it would of been idleing for a few mins, but i checked under my car and saw the cat converter was glowing orange... It shouldn't get this hot from such little work should it? Wondering if a blocked exhuast might be what is causing my problems? doesn't really explain it running rich does it?

if its glowing orange its burning fuel in the cat and making it hotter. your cat will be f*cked

hmm well, still got the overfueling issue i need to work out. I've done a fuel pressure test and it was all ok. and it held constant pressure when the car was turned off, so that shows that none of the injectors are leaking right?

Cracked exhaust manifold gasket or dodgy O2 sensor??

change the cat then the problem will resolve itself Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I have the exact same issue... Chasing up another TPS switch to try... Drop your afm resistance (anti clockwise) to see if it makes much difference

i droped down afm resistance a bit. made no difference. i don't think TPS switch is going to do much unless it thinks its got the throttle closed all the time.
