G'day guys, can anyone tell me if there is a difference between a VB-VL disk brake handbrake cable and a VN VP VR VS one. If there is a difference, can they still be interchanged. Thanks.

It is just that there is a new one on ebay that may go cheap. I've been quoted $111.00 for a new one. How much did your one cost? Cheers.

Thanks. vb-vk had a different diff all together, so it is different. drum brake and disk r different but can be interchanged depending on how capable u r at fabrication work. VN+ is different lenght

VN+ is different lenght Strangely enough, even though the later vks had the borg warner, the handbrake cable is the same. PT #92005529. I assumed the length was the difference with the later VN cable. But wasn't sure. Can you give a quick explination of whats required to use the drum cable on a disk rear. Thanks.

well u hav to make up ur own handbrake bracket which slides over the cable. so u need a piece of pipe the right diameter, drill a hole (O/D of pipe).. slide through hole nd weld ..... less rooting around just having the right cable in the first place. if u compare the 2 cables u would understand how to make the bracket

Thanks for the info though. Cheers.
