Hey Guys. Got my VLC put on gas today. Cut a long story short Its running like a pig. Seems to be running lean like there not enough gas or something. By the time I got home and rang the gas conversion place they had knocked off for the night. I also had my wifes VL converted just 3 months ago as well and noticed one major diffrence. Both cars have the exact same system but i noticed my wifes car has had the rear breather hose from the rocker cover to the air intake diverted to the air filter box. Could this have an effect on anything. Mine has not had this done and retains the standard fitting. I have read up a little tonight and it seems like this is a big no no what has been done to my car ?? Something about combustion and recurculation of gas in the crank case the way they have it set up?? I have attached 2 pictures. The first one of my wifes conversion which runs a treat and my conversion which was done today.

the problem is, it will run like **** on petrol because you now have unmeasured air from before the air flow meter going into crankcase and back through the pcv valve making it run lean because it hasn't been measured by the afm and will not know to add required fuel for the air its ingesting. (probally won't notice off idle because the 02 sensor will take over and correct it) the reason im guessing it has been done is to stop gas from the mixer after the air flow meter from going into the crankcase, which im guessing is not a good idea? so if you move it back it will run good on petrol, but the gas from the inlet track will go into crankcase. ideally you need the hose move after the air flow meter, but before the gas mixer, but the mixer is right after the air flow meter, meaning there isn't anywhere to plumb it in between. go back and ask, what the go is, it will never run properly on petrol in that configuration.

Thanks for the reply mate. Yer I took it back today and found out there was at least 3 things wrong with it. 1 was the hose as we noticed. 2 was apparently VL's run a reverse polarity on the injectors or something so basically it was running a mixture of both fuel and gas. 3 they had to tap into the grey wire on the o2 sensor for some reason which i forgot. Basically they fixed everything up as i insisted it be fixed today as I had outlayed $2600 yesterday for the conversion. I also asked if they had pre school kids who did the install or qualified gas fitters !! So far all seems to be running very sweet indeed. Anyone looking at doing a gas conversion in Adelaide shoot me a pm and I can tell you whom I would not recommend. Cheers

good to hear its sorted. yeah, you need the oxygen sensor hooked up if its a closed loop processor system as it uses the oxygen sensor to measure the air fuel mixture the same as it does on fuel and to keep the mixture correct. the closed loop systems are best as you get theoretically best economy you can from LPG.

Cheers mate. Well tonight im cruising home and the car kept defaulting to petrol. The switch which shows which fuel Im on kept cutting in and out. Popped the bonnet and started looking around. When I went to check the fuse the bloody wires going into the holder had fallen out. Meh Only small things but really not good enough for a repuatable dealer hey. Cheers
