replaced them b4. when i bought the car, nuthin had been replaced, so i figured id replace the parts that are most likely going to *** up. as i said its only happened since i took the dose pipe off and put the standard airbox on, maybe its getting too much air and not enough petrol.

ok then well its kinda hard to diagnose. generally its a sensor related issue more than likely its the afm. check that with a multimeter on the two outer terminals it should be around 386-400ohms. if its 0 its stuffed Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

not something silly like a lead loose on the dizzy, as they are close to the airbox.

this might sound dumb but it fooled about 5 mechanics.....loose hoseclamps on the pipework from the airbox to turbo, check them .

who knows man, jsut pointing out the obvious signs. its a vl, say no more. but anyway got it back from mechanics today, cracked dizzy cap, and 3 injectors would need to be replaced within the next few weeks in the meantime, put a new dizzy cap on, new leads, a filter and have put sumthin in the fuel to get rid of the crap. also said that if i do drive it and petrol gets low, to fill up with mobil v8000 or sumthin like that to burn away the **** petrol. told me the 3 injectors that were **** wernt doing much at all they were dirty, didnt look like they could operate properly at all so yeh, thanks for the help guys a few of yas were close!

NEED HELP AGAIN!! if u havnt read the posts above, ill shorten it into one paragraph. car isnt running too good, it is EXTREMELY hard to turn over i nthe morning, when it does get going, it is likely to stall (auto) when idling, under throttle the car feels fine, keeping in mind that it dusnt stall all the time, it has its moments where its ****, and where its average. NEW PROBLEM ok since then i got it looked at by two diff mechanics, both suggested injectors were either blocked or ****ed.. turned out they were all fine jsut majorly blocked. have got them cleaned, tested, all oil/colant levels topped up, have a new dizzy and new steel leads. After all that, i got it back from the mechanics who is a family friend, and when it was in his workshop, it was idling fine, didnt miss a beat. when i got home, i tested out the car.. turned it on, left it running for 5mins, missed once or twice but was 99% fixed. Later in the night, i filled up petrol and went to my gf's whcih is bout 5km from mine. by the time i got there, it was missing every now n then. nothing major.. i drove around for a bit, got back to her house and the car was WORSE than wat it had even been! wake up next morning its extremely hard to turn over, turned off while i was reversing twice, turned off when idling at a main set of lights on the way to work. so im ***in pissed off as anyone else would be. mechanic said to give it a few days as when the petrol stuff got cleaned it may have unearthed some more crap **** in the tank. so after work (yesterday) took it to a mates and he chucked my dose pipe back in and it was running heaps better. drove home, still missing a fair bit but not as much as earlier. have a few quesitons if anyone read that. can ur car be tuned differently for a dose pipe and differently with an airbox?? and does anyone else have any other suggestions.. all petrol lines are fine.. im at wits end with this problem, been bugging me for 3 months now and im pissed off. or can someone suggest a place to take to and then maybe they can distinguish the culprit. theres a 6 pack of alki if someone can point me in the right direction!! thanks -Jason

all those united fuel stations. Some fuels at shell. Sounds like either you fuel filter is full of **** or your tank. Or both.... If you run ethanol fuels its a well known fact that it "cleans" out your system and that you SHOULD change your fuel filter after running it for these reasons. Give that a crack and see how you go mate. Worst comes to worst u've wasted $10 and 20 min work...
