I am looking at putting an rb20det into my vl and im just wondering if anyone can help. I want to stay automatic but dont know if i should use the vl auto or the auto that comes with the rb20 front cut i know using the vl auto is the simple way. With the rb20 auto will it line up with the vl gearbox mounts and can i use the vl shifter and tail shaft. If i use the vl auto do i leave the auto computer in the car and just wire the rb20 computer to the power. Any help would be great i have done the rb20 conversion b4 but only in manual form.

gearbox mount- need a new one for Rb20 auto tailshaft looks like it will fit at this stage vl turbo computer won't run rb20 box big bux to integrate rb20 auto computer to vl, better of fitting a $250 shift controller box from mv automatics to it, manuelises the box and hooks up in around 20-30 minutes or use the vl auto cheers darren

Option 1: If i leave the vl auto in and bolt the rb20det to it will the auto change gears corectly. Also there are a couple of wires that go from the vl computer to the vl auto computer and when i wire the rb20 computer is there any wires that need to go to the vl auto computer. Option 2: Rb20det engine and rb20det auto gear box into the vl how do i wire up the computer and is there a separate computer for the rb20det auto

yes you can bolt up a vl auto to the rb20det. i have done it, the only thing you need to do is add the wiring for the TPS. it will bolt up no issues at all.

im currently doing the same convertion the vl auto box is a complete bolt on but im lost witht he computer part also i have the rb20det harness all there just need to find out what it has to have wired into it and so on to get it to start any one got any pics or info on this????
