ok i did this the other day as everything i needed was on my spare parts car, so i thought i might write this up for anyone else wanting to pull a bit more with their vl note. i did this with a standard tow bar and reo as pictured below, so if aftermarket ones are different do not do it this way tools u will need: different sized drill bits and a drill of course 13 mm and 17mm socket + long and short extention bar tap and die set (can do without it) thin bit of wood hammer texta or pencil few coldies afterwards instructions: pre installation remove tow bar bottom piece and reinforcing if you already havent, simply undo 3x 13mm bolts on front of beaver panel, 2x 17mm from inside boot, 4x 17mm from under beaver and 2x 13mm from in front of fuel tank near fuel pump once you undo all of these, take out the tow bar piece from between tank and beaver, then u should be able u manoever the reo out, if not give it a tap with hammer you will need all the original bolts, if u get new ones, make sure their high tensile and same thread installation instructions 1. sit the reo in place where it should go inside boot also it might be best to hack out the seam sealer between beaver and floor 2. ok now get the reo as centre as possible and mark around the whole thing just incase u bump it out of position 3. drilling back of reo at the back of reo(above diff), look closely and u will notice 2 very small [dimples] that look like spot welds, dont be fooled, these are marked EXACTLY where u need to drill. grab a drill bit thats same or just little bit bigger than 13mm bolt and drill out holes on them marks, i did it with reo in but it was a bit hard as i had to stand on reo to get it to sit down enough, so might be easier to do it with it out when u do that sit the mount thingy with the threads on it in the holes get under the car and put the nuts on the threads with the spacer rings between chassis and nuts 4. drilling front of reo now line up the front of the reo (there are these little bumps on beaver that line up 2 reo) and get a drill bit that will fit thru the 13mm bolt holes at front of beaver and drill out all the holes try put bolts thru from the outside, if they dont fit redrill them with a drill bit thats same as 13mm bolt from the outside but make sure it doesnt go in to far to wreck the thread put the bolts in and do em up tight 5. ok, now get the bit of wood and put it underneath between fuel tank and boot floor so when u drill thru it doesnt hit tank grab a big drill bit that will fit thru the holes pictured and drill out 6. now u need to get a drill bit that fits perfectly thru the front 4 thread holes, drill em out and then u can either a. get your tap and die set and wind the tapper thru the thread downwards to create some thread on the floor itself, so your bolts screw thru the floor as well b. just drill the hole a tiny bit bigger on floor so the bolt fits thru 7. fitting tow bar piece this was the really hard bit when i did it, u have to manoever the tow bar in and it can get stuck halfway so the hammer will come in handy, i used a scissor jack to push it in place as it was proving to be a b!tch when in place put the bolts in and go around and make sure all the bolts are done up tight sorry i didnt include wiring up the trailer plug, as im gonna use new plug with that thin flat wiring stuff i can put thru the bootlid please feel free to correct me if ive done anything wrong or have any questions Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
