i was wondering where i can pick up a new front wheel bearing and... how do u replace them???

Any auto store mate, best do both sides as their cheap as chips.
Basically replacement run down:
1. Remove wheel
2. Remove brake caliper
3. Remove dust cap from centre of brake rotor
4. Remove split pin and crown nut from stub axle
5. Remove brake rotor
6. Remove old bearings and seal
7. Pack new bearings with bearing grease
8. Reassemble, tighten crown nut till tight then back off half a turn before inserting new split pin.
If your not too sure what your doing I suggest you get hold of a manual, but its a pretty simple procedure.

I dont even know what a hub puller is so I'm gonna say no lol. Once you take the crown nut off the rotor just comes away from the stub axle with a gentle pull. It is crucial to put the correct tension on the bearings when replacing the crown nut to allow the wheel to spin without the bearing moving around.
I got bearing kits for $12 a side with seals and split pins from Holden, and grease was $8 I think. So that brings it to a total cost of $32.

Rotate the disk and tighten the wheel bearing to approximatly 20nm. Loosen the nut 2 turns and then tighten the nut to 12nm so as a new split pin can be installed, bend over the end of the split pin. Make sure the disk spins freely.

thanks mate...i just tightened it to 25nm then backed it off. Mounted a dial indicator off the strut and tightened until there was no play and got the runout down to about 0.04mm each side. Took it for a drive last night and seemed to run pretty smooth...no shudder etc.

Same thing applies to a VP SS? i know my car came with abs yet i took the sensor out lol dont ask - would it be a good guess that the wheel bearings are going as the sound that its making are like having a flat tyre

17-04-10, 13:24 GMT+10#11 Yeah it'll be the wheel bearings.
If you jack the car up and give the wheel a spin you'll quickly find this out as it won't spin freely and will be making a whirring noise.
