well there is two places that i could get my stuff from one is TopBeat entertainment there is one in warwick and one in stanthorpe. or i could go to toowoomba and get it from wow sight and sound but they dont install stuff see as i would like some help installing it other wise it is going to take me forever to do it all myself. if you know about Top Beat you might know Alex??? good man he is he'll help me get wot i want and then wot i need to support wot i want and then put it in. so basically im making a big layby getting anything i want and paying it off but it will be in my car while i pay for it.

my mate has his car decked out with Alpine gear aswell.. from alpine dvd player to dvds in headrests to subs and amps and speakers. he used 2 type x subs, not sure on amps etc. but it goes hard as, ill chuck up some pics. they're not the best quality. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

if your going to spend that sort of money there are better brands out there for similar dollars, alpine is good but i would go listen to some other brands and research a bit more it will be worth the effort in the end, also i would get a pro to install it all if you want it to sound the best it can with what you have.

true, i agree with holdno v8. look at recent threads on this board and you will see many questions you have answered to do with what to get, the price etc. if you REALLY want all-alpine, there's nothing wrong with that. however, as 'v8 said, you can get better bang for your buck. what's ur budget, too?! I can recommend this for an all-alpine set-up for a decent amount which is not going to kill you. this is a good set-up here in my opinion: Headunit: 9856 - many awards, generally agreed to be the best value-for-money iPod HU out there. $400 you can snap it up for if you get it with other stuff incl. the iPod cable. Had many features which many serious audio buffs will use and honestly the only thing lackingis time-alignment but hey, you can get that on the model up... Splits: Type R SPR-17LS - These are good bang for your buck. Alpine will never wipe the floor with their splits, so no point spending $1,000 on their top-of-the-range when $500 MBQuarts will perform better and take more power. Type R is a good balance between price and performance. Although if you WEREN'T going an all-alpine set up, I could recommend some MBQuard Discus splits for the same price. hand-mande in germany and will take a crapload of power. also you can look into other to-end brands at this price. REARS: Forget 'em.and forget 6X9's. 6x9's are designed to provide some bass when you have no sub. you will have a sub so they are not needed. save your money. you will have a batter 'sound stage' by having your music coming from infron of you anyway. SUB: even 1 type r 12" is kickin, but 2 will keep you plenty happy! Taking 500RMR each, two will give you the quick punch of a 12" while still going mega load enough for most people. Type X is over-rated (actually, anyone who's into audio has never really raved about them). they're too expensive for what they give you, and again you can get much better for the price (EG Digital Designs). SPLITS AMP: To power the type-r splits, i recommend a.. hmm tough. see i WOULD recommend a PDX 4.150 coz it will last you forever and will give each split (if wired up to 2-channel) at least 300RMS. you could adjust ur gains so it wouldn't over-power ur splits. it's a high-quality amp worth every dollar. to save money look at the V12 range. SUB AMP: two choices. the PDX 11000 monobloc or the MRD M1005. Both give 1,000RMS two your two subs which is plenty. the difference is $200 from the MRD to the PDX and it's worth that $200 extra. the PDX is a superior amp and gives a larger dampening factor than the MRD, meaning it has tighter controll over the sub for a better, clearer and punchier sound. however, either amp is good in this situation and you will easily be able to get them well below their RRP when you buy lotsa gear together. Alpine is imported to the sh!tload and retailers can nock off NEARLY 50% if they're your best mate (eg i got my 9856 HU for $300 even when it retailed for $470 - albiet it was from a very good mate who wasn't spoze to get it that cheep but you get the picture on the inflation they add). SOUND DEADENING: a quality and well-known brand is Dynamat. Do a proper job of SD-ing you front doors and boot and the bass will jump a HUGE amount. worth every dollar. do it properly and you'll have no regrets. BATTERY: Upgrade your front battery to an Optima Ywllow top or other high-end deep-cycle battery, as well as upgrading your alternator wireing and even the size of your altenator. When you have over 1,000RMS going through your system this is wise. it will stop the blinking headlights and also mean that your system has the power it needs when you need it. a new front battery should do the trick, you won't need a second one. Cost for a good batt is about $450. dont skimp on it. OVERALL: an all alpine system is sure to be good quality, however you can get better stuff out there. but if you dont want to hassle, you cant really go wrong with a system similar to this, and you won't spend HEAPS on it. a pro install of all this will cost about $800-1,000 if you get everything done right and properly including good wireing. doing it urself is possible but you wont get the guarantees etc. Hope i helped. this is just my opinion on a few things. it'll cost a bit and seing as though you didnt' specify a budget i thouht this was ok for an all-round system. i didn't touch on the DVD player coz i'm not into them and have no idea about what's best bang for buck, so someone else can help you there. cheers

http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.php?t=94546 Have a read through that for a start, i would reccomend you go to a high end audio dealer and talk to them about what you want then make your own decision once you figure out a budget. The above install was done by TOWER Audio who also do all my stuf, top notch guys who know their stuff. If you can find someone similar in Queensland have a chat to them. Stay away from places like autobarn ect. have a look on here for good examples http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/index.php

hay gayz why does he have to go R-type?????? S-type is just as good.. for this system i mean proven by LUVTRK at autosalon, with 4 S-type alpines been run by 2 BOSTON GT28's and he did 156 DB.... dont get me wrong R's are good but S will do the same job and save you abit too.

type s - 300rms tops. type r - 500rms. i believe type r has a longer excursion etc. dont get me wrong, i gave a mate who has a couple type s's in his boot and it's good but i've heard someone with two type r's and 1000rms going to them and its that much better. and the difference in price between a type s & type r is not much compared with the difference between a type r and type x. but like Wiseman Yeti says, check those forums on http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/index.php and talk to the pros. that was just a good all-round money-safe setup in my opinion. otehre will differ adn that's good coz different opinions are different points of view which help you choose better

I would reccomend type S for a low budget. Better to spend your money on quality entry level alpine stuff then Crappy "high end" BOSS Audio stuff. Yes i find it funny that i called BOSS audio high end. I feel like i just said something dirty. I have Rockford Subs and amps and while Alpine is good, mixing and matching is much better

*Yawn* ok so i got suprised and i also got woken up! i went down to see my mate alex and he told me that its illegal to have a lcd screen open and working if its in the veiw of the driver? ok so this means one of two things 1. i have to get a roof mount dvd player 2. i have to get my in dash lcd screen fitted to my handbrake wich means the screen will only pop open and start working when the handbrake is on. ??????????????????? has anyone else heard of this or am i the only one that didnt know that? i think i am going to go with option 2.

YES but thats only coz if you smash and you try blaming them and or insurance might not cover you, its classed as a distration while driving.... mine is hooked up to the handbrake but it is earthed out at all times so it runs when i want it to run not when the handbrake is up... if your good mates with the guyz who are doing the install just get them to do that....

yea sounds like a good idea. nah i dont think alex would risk his job for something like that. i could just watch him install it and then when i get home change it. he is a bit of a tight ass but its only for his sake that he dosent get himself into trouble. hes from NZ and he talks funny ha ha ha SR! anyway i can get an alpine unit that is dvd and lcd screen but im not sure if thats two seperate units or a single din unit if you know wot i mean? that would cost me around $400 just for the unit then i would get mates rates on fitting it.

i'm no wizz on installation, but when my mate got his deck with lcd screen, the installer just said to him "if u want to run the screen, just earth the green wire that goes to the handbrake". If thats the case, u or this mate could just take ur centre gear off. Can any of the other guys on here confirm its that easy? BTW nice boot phatvl, ur mates yea? how did he go about setting it up, he just buy it custom built?
