Ban me for this if you want. This is an open letter to every CT member. This forum exists for one reason - for lovers of VL's to congregate in one online community and share stories, knowledge, expertise and opinions, and in the time that it's been up, it has done that extremely well. Even though I havent been a member for that long, I used to read threads and articles on this site back in like 2002, but I couldnt sign up cause hotmail emails are banned, but thats neither here nor there. In my short time here, I have made alot of friends, acquaintences, and made no enemies. I've met a ton of people from this site, on cruises, at events, at wherever, and it really has felt like a true community. This website has been instrumental in my success as a DJ/Artist, and has given me alot of opportunities in terms of promoting myself, my business, my music, and my DJ team. In short, it has been a great experience, and my kudos goes to the owners and operators of this website - you're doing a bang up job. But with that sense of community that has been created comes a small handful of people who do not think before they speak, and are not very considerate of the people around them. People who engage in 'workshop wars' even though they've never been to or had any work done by the workshop they're apparantly supporting. People who ridicule others for not knowing as much as they are apparantly supposed to, people who make fun of those who genuinely want an answer to a question which may seem stupid to some, and the poor people who copped it just because they got caught in the middle. I've seen many forums turn on their heads and gain the reputation of a place 'full of wankers', when they started out almost as promising as this one. This forum has a solid foundation, a good history, a huge amount of members, 99% of which do the right thing - and these immature wankers are turning this place to crap. You might think I'm going all Jerry Springer's 'thought of the day' on you here, but for this forum to succumb to the few jackasses on here... it would be an utter shame for all of us. So honestly, I urge all of you on here to either shut up or grow up. If you disagree with what someone says - dont make it a personal attack on them. If you and another person on here believe different things - say so, but dont bring up unrelated things, or resort to name calling. To anyone who reads this... please dont let this forum turn to crap. And to everyone who ever answered any question I had, even if they seemed stupid - thankyou. Much respect to all the mates I've made on here, and a shoutout to any mods I've had punchons with. Ban me for writing this, delete me, bag me, whatever. But I seriously believe this forum kicks ass, and I dont want it to go down the toilet. And nothing any of you say will ever make me believe otherwise. *Cue the song "War!
