This is prob a dumb question, but for my d&t major at school im doing a custom inlayed boot install for my car..im thinking of running two subs, either two 12" 600 watt, two 12" 800 watt or two 12" 1000 watt... now i was just wondering what size amp i will need to run these setups? and im also after some price ranges?
feedback would be great thanks guys

power ratings dont mean much like that. are those figures RMS? depends on what subs u want, if u get a good quality sub and a cheap one, feed em the same power and the good one will be a fair bit louder, so you go pick subs, then match it to an amp, or get an amp and match it to the subs you can run off it.
how much room have you got/how big can each box be?
just saying 600watt 800watt and 1000 watt isnt really accurate enough criteria to pick an amp and subs, you need more specifics.
whats your budget, thats the best place to start

give us a budget to work with am im sure that there will be many people here that are willing to help. what car is it going into? do you want to retain any boot space (if its a big boot)? as -VB- said. 600w 800w and 1000w isnt accurate as they are max figures. we need the rated (RMS) power. hope this helps.

Whats your dollar budget though. Rather than put in 2 average 12's in get one good 12" and get an awesome ported box

go rockford fosgate subs and amps those things go bloody hard... a tip when shopping for subs... convert em all into rms @ "x"ohms that way your playing on a level playing field... its like dyno tuning if you put your na on the dyno and have it set at freewheel then put your turbo job on there and set it at normal flat road setting your gonna get different results... most of the cheap companys do this to fudge their products and make them look better than the are... the better companys have joined together and made some protocol to abide by, a set of standard conditions that the products must be tested at so its easier to compare... the rockford amps come with birth certificates which tests all the stuff you need to know to work on a level playing field
hope this helps
