VS Steering Rack. How Much to replace?

Now i know the steering rack is a very common problem on Vs's How much to replace the lot? Ive heard about 600buks.. does this sound bout on the money. Can it cause other problems with a worn one like suspension etc?

hey mate my work gets acdelco racks for 499 so that sounds about right, about 2 hours labbour maybe a bit more
