hey fellas i checked out a manual vn ss today and when i took it for a test drive i found that the clutch was so f ukinnnn tight and hard to press. i thought a rexy clutch was tight but this was soooo tight i cut the test drive short cauz my leg wouldv cramped up. are all vn ss clutches that tight or is there another reason?? keep in mind that the clutch was extremely hard and i aint exaggerating 1 bit!!

As long as the clutch goes in and out smoothly and the cable is good, remember they are not hydraulic they are fairly heavy but you get used to it,ask the owner, they can be a bugger in stop start traffic but shouldnt be too stiff to the point of stupid.

yep vn, vr, vs, clutchs are cable and god damb are they heavy, the only reason the vl's are hydrulic is cause there a nissan set up, holden didnt change till vt, and i drove a vr 5speed for a week to work through traffic and **** that never again

mine was like that.. when i replaced the clutch, i found the cable was so stretched i had to use 40mm worth off washers to get any levrage to drive the car, and was heavy, verry verry heavy... after throwing in a new clutch cable she drove like a new car.. its most probably just a stretched cable... either that or you guys are just pussies jk Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

The clutch is probly on its last legs, if clutch is ok it will be the cable, they run real close to engine pipes and become hard over time. If everything is in good condition the clutch pedal will be light as a feather.

the clutch cables dont take long to stretch or chew in the sides or whatever they do. i put a new clutch in with old cable, heavy as **** so changed the cable and was 3 times lighter. changed it again since then too as it had become heavy again. thats with it routed correctly, held in to struttower with spring n whatever else, adjusted correctly... bla bla.

when i bought my the clutch was really heavy to. took the box out and discovered that the pivot point for the clutch fork had broken. the clutch is still heavy but not as bad. i find too that when the cable is changed for a new one it gets really light but after a week in my car it gets heavy again. i have a centreforce clutch in mine so its not standard.

I have the same thing in my VP SS, when i first bought it i couldnt believe how heavy it was. You do get used to it, but occasionally it gives me the sh!ts. Most people cant believe how tough it is to push in, even my mates with high performance imports with heavy clutches struggle to push it in. Im not sure if the clutches need to be stronger of V8s or what?
