aye goin? i gotta question for u smart blokes... :P im converting my rb30 to rb30et n when i put everything on... turbo, vlt injectors n all dat jazz...does it automatically be on 7psi? or where do i adjust the psi on the engine? rofl i dont get it... CSI_VL

The standard VL Turbo's turbo has an internal wastegate that is set to 6-7 psi. Seeing as your converting from N/A your gonna be running a 9:1 compression ratio so you might detonate.

the actuator rod on the turbo is the only form on minor adjustment, for boost it sould be on 7 psi STD any way if you want to get more buy a cheap GFB single stage boost controller from autobarn like $80 last time i checked maybe a good idea if you doing this your self to put the over boost valve on there just to be safe that way you wont blow it first trial run and boost guage would help alot too

nah i got that Mosta performance t3/t4 turbo turbo kit from ebay which comes with 38mm wastegate.. so u recon std with that turbo will be at 7 PSI?? how do i lower the compression ratio so it wont detonate?

You wont detonate the engine with VLT injectors on 7 pound, run good fuel, back the timing of. Gradualy ramp up timing so theres a good compromise of drivabilty and no detonation, to answer the question of lowering comp simply buy a Decomp plate, they are very cheap (bout 80 dollars) it goes between the head and block acting like a secound head gasket lowering the compression, but you open up a pandoras box of arguments to weather they are good on engines running under 10 pound of boost, cheers

i was under the impression you need low compression pistons but iv heared about decompression plates on here thow but i don't know any thing about them.

A decompression plate is basicly a chunky as headgasket. Puts more space between the head and block. Seeing as you got the monsta kit i would say you will need a boostcontroler (and a boost gauge if you want to see what your doing). You should be fine if you run 98ron and back off the timing a little aslong as you dont run insane amounts of boost.

I'm using the 9:1 compression ratio on 10psi, with standard VLT ECU & injectors. It did detonate on 7psi with normal unleaded so i always use Ultimate and never detonates on 7/10psi but i wouldn't go anything higher without an Aftermarket fuel reg

Just Get forgeees they are like just over a grand and they are heaps stronger and they give you the right compression

ye forgies are reeel cool, how long can N.A BOTtom end last with 19pounds and 20 degree timing.

Aslong as its kept cool and has fuel it should last for years. Some dude has run 35psi or osmething insane on a stock NA bottom end before.
