Good day everyone...
Ive got a mate who after some recent troubles with his magna has decided he really has no choice but to purchase another car.
He is a uni student and works part time, so naturally funds are limited.
Just wondering if you would be able to give him some pointers on what kinda car he should look out for, he is interested in either a vl or a vn but will concider others as well.
Car needs to be fairly cheep around 1500 - 2000 with RWC so please help him out, tell us what car you would buy and why!
P.S WE ALL LOVE OUR VL's BUT YOU CANT JUST SAY BUY A VL WITHOUT TELLING HIM WHY Have fun!
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
corollla - fuel efficient 4 banger (reasonably quick for family cars too)
VL's - (Easy to fix yourself, reasonably good on fuel if looked after right)
R31 - Same as VL above
Festiva - Last resort but average enough cars for tight arses
A small 4 cylinder. Fuel efficient, and cheap/easy to maintain.
Anything like a VL or VN, and he'll be falling into the same trap he's trying to get the hell out of!
i bought a vn for $1990 with reg + rwc 4 months ago (from a yard!) and been driving it every day since, bargain of the year.. paint is a little faded but its travel and i too am a uni student and work part time!
dont get a vl too unreliable and rull of rust, if u are lucky in this price range go the vn

yeah go a vl or corona or early model datsun. Pretty much anything built in the 70's, if it is still driving around today, then its a good car.

bad logic, what if they've been rebuilt 8 times?
all im saying is that if it looks like a good car and drives like a good car and is built in the 70's then chances are it will be a good car. Fark all goes wrong with them, and no electrics.
