Hey people, I have approximately $6500 to spend (no more) on a second hand car for my mum... The ones I've been tossing up are: Lancer daewoo (lanos etc.) festiva astina KA The lanos would have to be my best bet, as you can pull a 99 model for about 5k! But they sound too good to be true.. any input/opinions are more than welcome! even suggestions on other cars... although she wont drive a VL/VK or falcon.. she wants more of a chicks car haha

if you want a car in that price range go a toyota corolla. if you wanna spend a couple more bucks - around 10k - then the N15 SSS pulsar are tough as guts also. would stay away from festiva and all the other crap little econo-box's.

stay away from the korean built cars, there cars are so poorly put together that after 10years they start to shake vibrate, plastics loosen and are more expensive to fix.. I would be looking for a 95 lancer with about 7-80k on the clock or if u can find an astina or 323 you'll be doing ok.. I guess it comes down to personal preferance. matt Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I drive a festiva trio and the car is sweet. Do problems what so ever.. They are handy, small to fit in the tighest spots and fuel efficient. I mean, NO problems what so ever..

Forget the Festiva, most are buckets of rubish unless you find an old lady with a late model auto air steer and 60kays, forget em. Forget the Ford KA - i have driven them and they are tinny bits of junk. Look at Lancer and Mazda 323 Astina and Corolla.
