You could potentially get one from Jaycar if you knew the exact specs..... In my dealings with my RB20 wiring, I found things like this were in their special little nissan cases, with special plugs etc (ie they weren't just a bare resistor soldered into the wiring). Depends what wiring you have atm. If you have the complete loom I'd call Nissan spare parts. Otherwise you might be better off to either find a complete loom or get that specific bit of wiring (with a decent amount of wiring still attached) from a chopped up loom and wire it in to whatever you have at the moment. If no one wants to sell you a loom, but you can check one out (say at a wrecker), you might find plug the resistor into a relay base - so grab a suitable relay base from a wrecker and buy the resistor new from Nissan.

If it's not a rare gearbox, surely you can grab a loom pretty cheaply and easily

Ok, to make your life a million times easier, what you can do is go to your local Nissan wrecker and get the dropping resistor from a Series 3 R31 Skyline Auto. Only the series 3 auto have them as they are the full electronic Jatco box. It has two wires going to it and it is on the driver side strut tower. Its in a silver enclosure. (I can put a pic up later if it makes it easier) You can't use any other resistor as its hard to find one that has a high wattage that is needed. It is used on the Jatco line pressure solonoid to reduce pressure on a couple of the shifts, without it, it will shift very hard and rough.
