AMP INSTALL What you need. 1. Approx 4m of thick power wire (thickness depends on the size of the amp) 2. Fuse holder and fuse (at least 20amp) 3. About 4m long RCA leads 4. 1m thick wire for ground (must be at least same size as power wire) 5. Speaker wire to run from amp to speakers 6. 4m thin wire 7. Wire Cutters 8. Crimping Tool 9. Connectors 10. Phillips and flat head screwdrivers How to do it. 1. Remove negative battery terminal. 2. Run power cable from battery (do not connect yet) through the firewall and down one side of the car and into the boot (Or to wherever the amp is to be mounted) (the rear seat may have to be removed and cable fed through one of the holes behind the seat). 3. Find a suitable earth point and firmly attach the ground wire to it. 4. Attach fuse holder to battery end of the power wire, the closer to the battery the better. Attach fuse holder to positive battery terminal (make sure you have the negative terminal removed or the fuse out of the holder). 5. Remove Head Unit and attach RCA leads and remote wire (usually a blue wire) to the back of the HU. Re-fit HU. 6. Run RCA leads and remote lead down the other side of the car that the power wire is on as the 12volt current will interfere with the signal. 7. Plug in RCA leads. 8. Connect speaker wires to speakers, making sure the right channel goes to the right speaker. If using a subwoofer, look at the output section of the amp, and to bridge the amp to get more power and only 1 chan (out of a 2 chan amp) connect positive wire to indicated terminal and negative wire to negative terminal of other channel as shown in the diagram. 9. Fit suitable connectors to the amp end of power, earth and remote wires. And wire them up, Earth ( - ), Remote, then Power ( + ). 10. Make sure the Gain on the amp is turned right down and connect negative battery terminal and put fuse in. 11. TUNING: Turn up the volume on the HU (with amp gain right down) until speakers (driven from HU if applicable) slightly distort, then turn it down a little bit till there is no distortion. 12. Turn up gain slowly on amp until speakers/sub (driven from amp) slightly distorts, then back it off a bit. 13. Bolt/screw/secure amp to something so it will not roam around in the boot and pull wires out of their terminals. by Stoney (Stoney was the author of this, i am posting it because it really halped me, Thanks mate ) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

good work mate, you might want to add how to put a wire through the firewall... or i will take out the washer bottle and overflow tank if it's attached behind it you should see a rubber grommit with wires coming out of it, dirll through that making sure not to hit anything else already going through it, drill quite a big hole bigger than the wire because being rubber it will contract, run it through there and pull it through on the inside. pull up that gray plastic that runs along the door sill, then run the wires under the carpet, and like already said make sure not to run the power cables on the same side as the RCA leads (RCA leads are one one that go from the head unit to the amp) what i did was on the remote cable i put a switch on it so if i am listenign to it with the engine off, ie working on it at home and you want some music, the amp and sub will drain your power pretty quickly so you can turn the amp off and run the speakers through the head unit, hts a bit complicated but it can be done.
