Ben - PM Antho, there is a slight difference with some actually - like the S2 last lot apparently were the same as the VN .... Antho knows the differences, he told me the other night.
sweet. i've sent antho a pm.
redVLTjet, the commodore wreckers here aren't exactly the most helpful bunch. and i'm not sure if they know how to work a tape measure.
Yeah the pins and everything are exactly the same on the front and rear VL S1 headrests. They pin spacing is also the same for the early VL S2 (up to around 08/87) and the same as all VK Calais and VH SL/E.
The only difference between front and rear is the bracket that holds them in place, but the headrests themselves are interchangable.
Hope that helps
Yeah so if you are after either front or rear S1 headrests in the aqua colour then the ones on eBay you put up are the ones you want.

They are but you have to pull the seat cover apart to get to the pins. They are a bitch to get out
QIK86 you will find if you pull out the top of the rear seat out and flip it over there are recesses in the seat foam for the headrest brackets. Make sure you get the long black inserts that drop into them though. These you will need otherwise there is no point! Just measure the spacing and transfer it to the body.
Antho is absolutely 100% correct that S2 after 10/87 changed the mounts and the spacing to the narrower VN style!
