I dont no weather going motec would be just overkill or would somthing cheaper suit me better on my setup ? I got a vlt with most of the setup complete, im running a gt35/40,1.06, highmounted, 600cc injectors and 044 pump, stock low k motor, custom rajab plenum, 5speed manual, big clutch, Im going for about 250-270rwkw im building a tuff streeter which will never be raced down the strip, do you think that a motec ecu is essential or a microtech would be fine for what i am going to be running , as i wont need most of its functions and all i want is a tuff quick street which us rarely driven your thoughts....

any computer will make the same horsepower but what counts is the bit inbetween. spend that bit extra (whats an extra 800bucks when you've spent 20+ odd) and get your self either a motec or autronic. which ever one your tuner prefers.

Microtech is fine for that amount of power, or more so for the street. As long as the cruise maps are set right drivablity should be smooth and hassle free. I recently fitted a microtech to a VN ss and his power went up and fuel economy improved. Motec is never over kill. You get what you pay for. Would suit the street even better than Microtech. Motec adjustments are great. You are no limited by what number (ms) you are given by the manufacture. Plus if you ever did want to go to the strip you can just drop another file to the ecu.

Awesome job at fitting/tunning it too.. fitting was apparently the best fun lol highly recommended!

im running microtech. the extra money for more features of the motec model's was not needed in my car. plenty of cars running 9z with microtechs, i dont need that- i will be happy with 11/12z

Seeing as how I have about 7g worth of motec in my own car it may come as a big surprise when I say use autronic. They are cheaper, have most of the inputs and capabilities of the motec, but rather than use a table of numbers for the fuel mapping, it uses volumetric efficeincy tables, and constantly figures out itself what is needed based on this and temperature inputs. Ask Grant and Andy. Both have almost identicle engine combinations, but andy's car idles and cruises far nicer, and sounds different, Andy has Autronic, Grant Motec. Motec is a great computer, I just think for what you want to do, you have a more drivable car with ebtter manners for less money and no fall backs going with Autronic. Cheers......................6BOOST
