Hey guys just saw this vl on this weeks tradingpost. I want your opinions as to whether its worth the asking price. HOLDEN COMMODORE VL Turbo 1987, Bronze, sedan 3ltr 5sp manual, new turbo 6 months ago, painted 24 months ago, unmodified, 1 owner lady driver, EC, DCD-556 $7000ono Even though it doesn't state what model vl it is, guessing from the color I'm thinking its a berlina turbo. So whats your opinion is it asking to much or a bargain ??????????????

It says 1 owner lady driver, could be owned buy her and her husband and she's the one who drives it now. As for the new turbo, wear n tear it is a 20 odd year old car, if they are an older person they may not have let it warm up/cool down properly. Sounds good anyway

But theres a big chance that this could be factory berlina turbo am I right. If thats the case FATPSI is it worth the buy, I mean if you were after a nice stock vlt would you buy it

this is similar to mine, but manual. when i saw my ad, it said lady owner i thought yeh wat ever, went and suss'd it out...the thing was immac, all orig, books and the lady was 50 years old...you can tell from the condition of the car, it reflects on the owner.

Sounds good anyway asif the "older people" would be pushing the car that much ? :/ u have to wonder why they have a VLT in this day and age......

it also says its been painted in the last 24months may be a different colored gold to the stock one, the ads dont really tell u much, u really need to go down and have a look for yourself before you start getting your hopes up.

The school where my little brother and sister go, I pick them up everyday and there's like 4 or 5 car's that I didn't think older parents would drive. There's like 3 different XR6T's and this pretty nice VS Senator that's in good nic. I also find it wierd that parents driving around there families want turbo cars, but believe it or not, they do drive them. Jason.

but most ads say one lady owner, i dont trust them, u just gotta go have a look, but i woudnt pay more than 4 grand for a berlina turbo stocker... but thats me, i dont pay these bull**** dreamer prices

In the end of the day a vl's a vl n your gonna need a alot of money to make it go places anyway eg. engine rebuild n the lot, so there no point paying 7grand to start of with when ur gonna need to pump another 10 into it.

I'd offer $6k on the table for it, if it were an original genuine car. I wouldn't be expecting a showroom condition car, but if it looked fairly clean I'd say go for it! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i'd ring and see how many klms its done and ask if the rust was fixed when they got the re-spray and also who done it, Also ask who re-built the turbo and why it was rebuilt for? No doubt she'll get her husband or what ever and he'll tell ya the full detail and ding wasn't a 1 lady owner! Otherwise she'll have no clue lol
