Hey guys just after some pics of vls with some late model commodore seats fitted. I have been searching the forums but most of them were posted long time ago and the pics no longer work. Thinking of doing this to the old mans vl but need to see how they look.
Many people say that with the later model seats on the passenger side its fitted on a angle, can this be fixed.
Also with the late model rear seats I just want to know if they can be placed further back than the stock even if it means that the parcel shelf has to be cut, because I'm after that little bit extra leg space.
Thanks guys. will appreciate if you could help out.
can't cut the parcel shelf/body structure without engineers certificates etc
here's my VX seats in my VL, rest is done now too (door trims etc)just dont have pics
**** loads of work not an easy drop in, I had auto image interiors do mine.It was nearly 2 days of work inc retrimming them. They cut about 4 or 5 inch's out of the guts of the centre hatch and turn the rear seat back into 1 piece. they used the old VL rear seat base and modded the foam from the VX seat to fit the VL metal frame.
ohh mate that looks hot. it completly transforms the car into something else. Now with an interior like that I can live with but the normal vl ones I dont like. How much did it end up costing you.
You can pix the slant that the passenger seat ends up on by changing over the rails etc and the rear of the newer models does need to have some of the guts removed for it to fit.
If u PM YEP_boost he'll b able to help you out.

mine has no slant at all, they used a mix of VN and VL seat rail parts and it is perfect
If you remove the excess width out of the centre it looks better than taking it off the sides

Yeh thats what i meant by saying the guts. I have seen Steve do it b4!
not might WILL.if you cut speaker holes in it you need one as well, any modification to the body structure requires a certificate to ensure the body maintains its structural integrity

How did you fit the rear VQ Stats seats? Did you fit them without retrimming?
Can you show some photos of the sides..
Very interested on what you did..
yes i did re-trim the seats to an extent. Its not easy to explain without you having a seat to look at or without having an understanding of seat frames and what the consist of. Ill try and make a tech article in my spare time.
