OK Guys I am after opinions from guys who actually own VL Turbo's and drive them. I have owned a Original Manual VLC for 10 years now and it is simply immac and quite rare with the MX7 from the factory. The car now makes good power (over 300rwkw) and I have been considering an auto. The thing is it seems a shame to take the manual out as they are a dying breed and it is a rare car like this. Your opinions would be great. Thanks

I dont own a VL Turbo, but I would be keeping it manual. Depends if you are building a drag weapon or a quick steet car. But it would be a shame to convert a factory manual Calais

It's been proven that VL Turbo's can still run decent numbers with a 5 speed manual, so stick with it and see how it goes. Maybe even chase the record if drag racing is your interest. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

as above or get another shell and put itall in that and go all out on a shell that doesnt matter

seeing as i get the feeling you want it to be auto, i think you should convert it to auto. i ask you this, if it were a factory auto that someone had converted to manual, would you hesitate to convert it back? if you would just drop an auto straight in, than i would convert this one that said you can always convert it back if you wanted though i know its a stuff around going from an original manual to an auto..... depends what you want from it. if it were my car id keep it manual.

pull the manual out and keep it for resale value. ppl think auto is easy... pffft - its still a art when driving a hypo car i never regretted going auto

because its a factory manual, and theyre rare, then u'd be a nut to convert it... having said that, auto does have its advantages, but i still say stick with the manual.

auto has advantages? since when ? auto better? Righto. Keep the cog swapper in there mate, you wont regret it.

If he was to get serious with drag racing, then obviously an auto trans would be an advantage. Somewhat solves traction issues, and driveline breakages. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

DO you want a street car or a track weapon? I say keep the manual, more fun and will sell for more. Auto's are for flat out power and lazy people
