mine usto do the same thing when it was supercharged.. I changed motors and it dosnt do it now :P maybe your fix? It was due to it running hot.. had to wait for it to cool down and start up like normal..

Maybe it's not getting enough air/fuel when warm. Tried starting it under Wide open throttle? Series 4/5 RX7's have this problem.

mine did EXACTLY this and i thought it was the starter or the ring gear. (would start instanly off the key, but if i drove home or stopped somewhere when it was hot you would just hear the starter sound like it was slowly spinning and gaining speed but not actauly turning the ring gear etc) i got a brand new starter and it seemed fine, then the brand new starter packed it in :/ so the old one went back in.. at the same time that packed it in the battery did too, so i put a brand new 550cca battery in and now the old starter is FINE. is the battery in the boot? what size cable did you use if you did it? and what battery do you have? my battery was fine with starting normaly so i never suspected it, but it was obviously the problem all along!!
