difference in blocks n/a series 2 and a vlt

hey guys and girls As it sayd above i just want 2 know if there is an actuall difference between the block itself. Not including the 2 bolts holes for the lines but as in are they the same block n/a series 2 from a berlina and a actuall vlt block or did they make a completey new one. all help would be greatly appreciated. i done a search and didnt find much. cheers
