Gday all, quick question, Did N/a calais come with disc brakes all round? If they did, did any other N/a Vl's come with them as standard? cheers

Awesome cheers for that mate Another quick question then, are the disc brakes on the N/A calais the same as the disc brakes on turbo vls? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

No turbo models and the V8's had larger rotors on the front with a brake calliper with fins to help it cool bettter, turbo brakes aint that hard to get a hold of, so just throw them on BUT.... You must put turbo rotors and calipers, No half assed jobs also make sure you know what you are doing when you play with your brakes, they are very important and you dont want them falling off Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

When purchasing "VLT" brake calipers ask for some "VS V8 Calipers" they are the same thing but have usually had a shorter life than the VLT's .... make sure u put a caliper kit thru them and replace the rubbers for best performance .... these will work with the stnd VL master cyl, but again upgrading to the 1" will give the best feel etc. It's a cheap upgrade and well worth it Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Was interested as i'm going to get an n/a vl soon to turbo it, and was thinking if the calais discs were the same as the turbo brakes then it might convince me to get a calais because i want decent brakes on the thing but looks like i'll have to just get a set of vlt front brakes or something similar, no matter what type of n/a i go as i don't really want a BT1. cheers

Options... You could of had an SL with disk brakes from factory fitted because you optioned for it... Thats what it comes down to in the end and the disk rear end in all VL's are the same no matter if its 6cyl NA, 6cyl Turbo and V8...

you for got the part codes for the pads... 1085's and 1086's hehe Well if your brakes are going blue then i suggest stop braking like that... otherwise one day it just wont work and yeah anything could happen... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

its happened once already, got to the end of the street and had no brakes, i gotta get some x-drilled and slotted discs that should stop the glazing, and overheating... mind you, ive had the big brakes for about 2 or 3 weeks!

Just get slotted rotors.. dont get x drilled and slotted... they tend to crack and if your brakes are overheating then you will most likey crack them rotors....
