Hey guys, me and the old man replaced my headlights and indicators tonight, did it by the instructions in the Gregorys manual for VL's. Unclipped the eyelids plug (next to the battery) going to the eyelids motor and manually wound them up, did the job and manually wound them back down. I then reconnected the eyelids plug and switched on the headlights to marvel at my achievements....they came up no worries, the lights illuminated and after checking the angles of the headlights i then turned them off...... Thats when the eyelids stayed up. I want them working as they are the whole reason u buy a VL Calais IMHO.. who can help get them working again. Jay

the green wire of the 3 that are soldered to the motor itself at the other end of the loom that u unplugged in the engine bay would most probably have come off its contact with the motor.. easiest fix is it take the grill off and have a look in there.. if its off.. just solder it back on.. or if u cant get a solder in there and cant be ****ed taking the motor off.. epoxy glue the wire to the post it has broken off and they'll work happily ever after.

Does the motor try to put them back down again? Either the linkages are jammed somewhere or you've got a wiring fault. Try a relay from a mates car perhaps?
