just a question first... do u really need it or is it rice factor?? coz if u check this chart here http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm 0awg is rated at 150amps for power... almost 3x what the average alternator can pump out. if somehow u fit the need for that size, then http://cgi.ebay.com/STINGER-SX050S-E...QQcmdZViewItem (http://cgi.ebay.com/STINGER-SX050S-EXPERT-SERIES-SILVER-0-GAUGE-POWER-WIRE_W0QQitemZ140018361218QQihZ004QQcategoryZ32810QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) muuuuch cheaper than what u were quoted

hey all, yeh just got some cable for 15 bux/m. just one more question regarding the o-rings, as ive never used this type before. can someone please explain to me how i'm ment to join the wire to the o-ring, im used to using the crimpable type, but nothing this big. its completely solid with no slits or anything. is it meant to be soldered or something? can someone please explain how its meant to be done cheers

You use a crimping tool. Not one of those pussy handheld ones, they are about the size of a pair of boltcutters. Solder it with a propane torch after you've crimped it for a solid connection.

Buy a stinger 0ga kit from somewhere like Dooran pro, FHRX studios they retail roughly the same as a 4ga stinger kit. they come with fuse holder, ring terminals, earth lead etc. and it works out that yoiu end up getting the actual cable for practically nothing. the problem with 0ga cable is that the cost of the fuse and terminals and fuse holders is very exy. as loud VH says crimp it with a big mofo crimper. if you dont have access to one use a vice (in conjunction with an old stubby flat blade screw driver and a hammer this works a treat this is how Team Ghetto crimps for our SPL setup. Then using a butane / propane blow torch heat the terminal and wire and flow in some solder to swell the wire inside the connection so it wont come loose. (Didnt do this the first time and Sam from PHATT kicked our asses for dropping the cable - DOH!)

yeh but the o-ring connector isnt the crimpable type, like its freakin solid, and it doesnt have the slit in the middle like the other o-rings for it to be crimped, or am i meant to just crimp it down anyway and squash it

can you post a pic? it may be a screw down type

Am I safe to assume the ring terminal looks like this? If it is on of those, yes, they are crimp terminals. You just need to apply ALOT of force to crimp them properly. Don't forget to solder Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Yeah those pricks are hard mofos to crip. Easiest way is to setup a crush point in a vice...

yeh that's the one. thanks heaps for your help, i ended up smashin the thing against a metal plate with a hammer and it crimped good, then just filled the mofo with solder n its all sweet! thanks again
