i have a N/A VL 5speed. it drives well, but below 2000rpm it seems to have a miss, and runs a little rough. once the 2000rpm mark is passed it is fine. also it has no problem when free revving. please can anyone help me with this? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Broad question, it could be ANYTHING. Try replacing the leads and sparkplugs first. It could be anything from your coil, out of tune AFM or CAS which are usually the main culprits in a VL.

How long has it been since you replaced all your basics? air filter, spark plugs, spark leads, fuel filter? Change all of them and see how that goes. If nothing, check the resistance of your afm (should read 382) Also take the plug off the afm and give it a blow out and a spray with contact cleaner and make sure its on tight. Make sure all your pipes are on properly. Give them a wiggle to see if they are loose and tighten up the hose clamps Finally just check all connections throughout the entire engine bay to make sure they are all on tight and have good contact.

also check your fuel system for blockages or surging, VL's can be a nightmare to find intermittant problems on. I finally got mine sorted it turned out to be the pressure regulator was gone and caused the internal fuel pump to start seizing because it was overworked. It cost me $900 to find the problem because they swapped the distributer, the coil and the ecu before finding that the problem still came back after a couple of days.

cheers for the responses, i have replaced the plugs, leads, and airfilter in the last 2000k's. and had a new CAS fitted within 5000k's. will check the AFM and Coil to see it they are the culprit. only asked cos i thought it was weird that it stopped playin up above 2000rpm... cheers again.
