Im about to buy some new tyres for my 17's . currently running falken 235/45/r17 ze326 or something like that.
im looking for the same size but a lot grippier tyre for around the same cost $140 each or less. anyone got any suggestions on a grippy tyre for my n/a. Just want tyres that wont spin therefor i wont do skids. and my tyres will last longer.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Tyson
ever thought of ringing a tyre shop?
and by the way if you want to stop doing skids, you dont need to buy better tyres, you just have to use less acceleration..

Agreed. They are without a doubt the worst tyre I have ever driven on. Do yourself a favour and spend some good money and get some good tyres. $140 would get you Nankangs or some other cheap asian sh*t.
no offense but if i was gonna spend 450 a tyre id buy new wheels with tyres.
nankangs pretty good ? i know maxpsi uses them and seems to run 10's still.
just want a good tyre that will last. falken are way 2 hard compound. yes they will last but they are extremely slippery in all conditions.
Try Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3... good grip for the money. Nankang are crap and thats why they are cheap. I had a set on a Legnum VR4 (4WD V6 TT) and they still didnt give good grip
i was talking to a guy today at a tyre shop and he was telling me for st8line traction the goodyear eagle's are sweet and for $210 a tyre thats ok i guess
has any one els tryed tyres from the $200 - $300 price range that have good traction on the strip ??
im slowly getting ready for my calder park run and need to know what tyre's will give me the best traction for the strip with out spending over 300 at tyre MAX.
id rather get out of it for like 500 for the both but beggers cant be chosers
i have one word...well 3 actually. 'hankook silica tyres'.
i've have had falken ze326, then ze512, then some yokahama a539's, was on some bridgestones which were just as grippy as the yoki's jsut last way longer. now i got some hancook silica tyres, they're not too expensive and you can expect 60,000kms from them.

hancook silica. is that it, like is there a type of hancook silica or just any of them as well how much & where from ?
cause i see you live in the east too so i guess your pritty close to the same area as me around ringwood ?
just the ****est hancook silica ones. i used to go to the place on burwood hwy little up from the old jb but pirate tyres behind better brakes is heaps better.
Very happy with them... Have gotten an easy 40,000 out of them with a thrashing and some camber on the front end...
I think they were $175 each for 225/50/16's... This was a little while back now, so they may be a tad cheaper or still around that price...
