Hey fellas i've just finished installing one of JSpecs cooler kits, the one with the AFM in the piping, and I can't figure out how to stop the cooler pipe blowing off the outlet side of the AFM.. I've tried Silastic, Eurathane (Sp??), and i've TIG'd another bracket on the piping closer to the AFM but with no luck..
If anyones overcome this prob or got any ideas, that'd be great...
Cheers

silastic is good for sealing but has very low strength properties, try cleaning the end of the AFM with thinners and the inside of the hose with thinners and use supa glue and T-bolt (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/T-BOLT-CLAMP-intercooler-turbo-toyota-subaru-nissan-vl_W0QQitemZ320014908973QQihZ011QQcategoryZ50138QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) clamps to hold it on.

as above get decent clamps

My next step is using a glue of some sort.. In the new Jspec kits they dont use silicon hose for the outlet side of the AFM, the plastic part of the AFM slides inside the alloy pipe, so you can't use clamps because its metal... its a tight fit but under boost it just blows off...

Get what VL_30_LT said... get good T clamps to help with the pipe blowing off...
No point in putting a glue of some type as when you go to take it off you will be left with crap on the side of your pipes which could find its way into your intake system and yeah...
The kit should be supplyed with good clamps to start off with... If companys are going to supply intercooler kits they should at lest supply you with good clamps...

just get 2 self taping serws and drill them through the pipe and afm , it will hold it in place and will stop it poping off

Trim back the piping and use a silicon joiner and clamps?
