Hi all, couldn't find anywhere specific so i thought i'd introduce myself in the section most appropriate to me.
I drive a 93 ED Fairmont, regular australian ford forums member, member of the e-series owners club SA and of the modifed ford club SA.
the mrs owns a VL berlina which she has alot of pride in and its been a bit of a side project for me.
no mods as yet, it's been debadged and given a good polish. the black paint around the windows has recently been renewed and the grey areas around the tail lights have been sprayed black as well so its looking pretty straight atm.
not sure how bad you guys might be with bagging the fords but we have a couple VL owners over on fordforums and its all just for the love of cars and a mutual repect between enthusiasts
this forum has a good rep and i'm looking forward to getting lots of useful info from you guys.

cheers guys, if i could ask i couple quick real newie questions?
1.Did the VL come with any other I6 apart from the RB30e?
When i was younger my pop had a VL, i remember it said Nissan on the rocker cover..
2.Is the wheel offset the same for all commodores? e.g can i fit current model wheels onto the VL without hub adapters?

Nah mate. The RB30E and RB30ET was the only I6, that came with the VLs. As for the offset, yes you can fit newer wheels on VLs. (Not sure about the hub adapters though???)

The '86-'90 Nissan R31 Skyline had the same RB30E engine, with Nissan on the rocker cover instead.
The older '84-'86 VK Commodore came with the injected I6 202 (3.3) black motor and the RB was a major step forward giving 33% more power and 15% more economy.

All are the same except for IRS VP's , but the wheels fitted to them were so ugly that chances are you wouldn't buy a set anyway
