1. Should the thin blue amp remote wire from the head unit to the sub be running along the power cable side of the car or with the thick blue RCA leads on the other side of the car? 2. Is it better to run RCA cables from the head unit to a mono amp for a sub setup or run a cable from the first amp for the speakers to the second amp which would run any subs. Also if its better to hook up separate RCA cables from the head unit for each amp, should the remote wire from each amp be hooked up to the same remote amp wire from the head unit? If that makes sense any info would be great, thanks.

The thin blue Remote wire sends a 12volt signal when the head unit is turned on directly to the AMP turning it on at the same time, so your best off running that the same side as your 12volt power is on. I have personaly run the 12volt Remote wire down the same side as my RCA's becuase there shielded and didnt think it would affect it, and it hasnt but it would be better to run on the other side just incase it does with your setup! hope that helps mate

Thanks for all your help. The deal is that I have the RCA leads that are going to be run to the subwoofer amp already has the remote wire attached to it already sheilded like yours and the main RCA leads for the speakers amp is a separate wire. Should I just run the separate one with the power side of the car and run the one attached to the RCA leads just as is with the RCA side of the car? If that makes sense. Also are you able to please tell me if I hook up both amp remote wires to the same amp remote wire output on the head unit? At the back of the head unit I have 2 remote wires, one says 0.1 amp max and i think 1 says 0.3 amp max, something like that. One is blue/white and the other is blue.

i dont think it really matters which side your un the remote down its just sending a signal to tell the amp to turn on so it should be fine with the power this said many RCA's actually have a remote wire run down the middle of them dont know if its for a reason or just because its easier so some one else should be able to confirm or deny this.. if your head unit has all three RCA outputs (Front Rear and Sub) they should be used makes it alot easier to tune and abe to get better sound quality out of it this way that said if you only have one or 2 RCA outs you can get some decent sound quality with the sacrifice of volume Quote: Originally Posted by VLCTS2 At the back of the head unit I have 2 remote wires, one says 0.1 amp max and i think 1 says 0.3 amp max, something like that. 1. Doesnt matter 2. If one of your amps has an RCA ouput on it, use that as the first RCA receiver. So run the RCA's to that amp and then use the RCA output on that amp to run your 2nd set of RCA's to the 2nd amp. Then you will need to splice in 2 remote wires on the end of the one from the head unit so you can run that too each sub.

s200vl thanks and also Hingo, it makes sense on what s200vl is saying about better tuning if I use both outputs so using 3 RCas, 1 for the mono amp and 2 for the front and back speakers to the first amp. I will just daily chain the amp remote wire from first amp to second, or is it better again to use 2 remote amp wires from the ehad unit to each amp separately?

It doesnt really matter how you do the remote wire. It only sends a tiny signal from the headunit to the amp to turn on/off

Will Chain Up The Remote Wire From One To The Other Amp And Also Use Rcas For The Fronts, Rcas For The Rears And A 3rd Set Of Rcas For The Mono Amp. Thanks For Your Help Guys.

If you want to be adding anything else (ie boot lighting fans or adding more than the 3 amps) then your best to install a relay. If you want I can post up a diagram and instructions how to wire one up if you dont know. The problem with putting too many things on to the remote wire is that you can overload this output and blow the surface mount fuse for the remote out on the headunit. If you do that its back to the manufacturer or a repairer for repair cause its not something you can fix in your back shed at home (well somepeople can but not too many people.) As for the running it down either side realisically with 2/5ths of **** all current travelling down the remote lead its unlikely it will induce noise through the RCA leads so you can safely run it with the RCAs. I noticed someone said they had a remote lead with ther RCAs this is actually untrue. that lead is an earth 'drain' wire to ellimiate ground noise. Not really an issue these days with the quality of components and it can safely be used as a turn-on / remote wire.
