Hey all this my Vl Calais , I originally bought the car off an old bloke in stock standard condition, mudflaps, standard tape deck and speakers , roof racks ,window shields dashmat and towbar the car came wif a RB30E non turbo motor and auto gearbox. The car drove perfect. The car is a series 2 Grey over dark grey 2 tone... with immaculate grey calais interior When i bought this car i also owned a Red factory turbo 5speed i put a group A bodykit on it calais wheels lowerd suspension 2.5exhaust and stereo system .. not long after i bought the car i had the motor and head rebuilt back to standard specs after 19 yrs of abuse... The motor was standard when i got it but soon put a KnN pod filter on it and 2.5 exhaust , speco boost gauge and turbosmart B.O.V welded on the standard crossover pipe was very pleased with the new power i had Not long after buying the calais i lost my licence dragracing (in the turbo) and was sick of the NA motor but loved the calais interior...so i had 3 months to convert my calais to turbo. I bought an Intercooler kit and after putting the turbo motor in the car from the red one along wif the factory MX7 gear box, when doing that i took the 28spline diff out and took it to PROMAC gearbox n diff and had then put an LSD centre and new 4 pinion gears in along with new bearings.i installed the intercooler. Now the car had a standard 1 inch exhaust so it soon went to Newcastle muffler service and had a 3inch cat back exhaust put on it Then It was brought home where i could put the rebuild diff into the calais . While putting the wiff in i put new superlow redsprings (pedders?)springs in the rear but had a hell of a time changing the front spring but finally got it done I went out n bought 18'' concept 5 lenso wheels off nugget on the forum which transformed the car dramaticly with the lowerd suspension.... i bought venetions and rear chrome mudflaps to match the cars front standard ones upgraded the stereo to a cd player after having alot of fun egttin the standard tape deck out and and top of the range pioneer speaker back and front ... the car has sheep skin seat covers and standard steering wheel I was going to buy new head lights but after taking them out n cleaning them right up i dont need too Took my car to SBO automotive at gosford for a dyno day where my car made 153rwkw and 404 nm atw's on 8psi with a really flat boost line and running rich midrange.... the car is now runnin 10-11psi which has really woken the car up with 2nd gear in the dry with 18s breakin traction power hasnt been tested at 11psi washed the car an took sum photos today Future plans for the car are New computer, injectors , hi mount turbo with external gate , custom plenum and maybe an LE body kit PLease let me kno what u think of my ride , cheers in advance SABO Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
