So I started up the VL and it started idling rough and spewing out the black sh*t, but it was fine after that and didn't hestitate, like it done before. I'm starting to think, the pod filter, is the culprit, because I've heard that they kill the afms alot quicker. So what do you guys think?

ive heard this too. had a mate who's afm stuffed because of this. apparently you should spray carby cleaner through you afm every now and again.supposedly ment to stop this. please correct me if im wrong.

Yeah mine is too... I replaced the afm and o2 sensor from another car and helped it a little. I'd say it is your coolant temp sensor! Just pull it off and check it with a multimetre to check the sresistance. Not sure exactly what it needs to be. Someone on here might know. But do that and see how that goes!

start by checking the computer for codes, then maybe swap with another AFM that you know is working so you can eliminate that been a problem. in the year of running a AFM in my car i never had a problem (stock position, no bov) had a POD on there for a long time. glad i dont need to use it anymore.
