Its the Idle Air Control Valve. Its how the ECU adjusts your idle speed for whatever reason it needs to. (Not only A/C)

No it's not. It's the FICD valve as VL_RB25DE said. It's only for air con idle up and it's either on or off, unlike the AAC valve which is next to the overboost relief valve in the pic above.
The AAC valve does the majority of idle speed control as it can vary it's duty cycle between 0 - 100% to alter the amount of air bypassed around the throttle.

13-08-06, 23:42 GMT+10#11 my car idles way too high like 1000rpm
we have tried adjusting the idle on the ecu, adn it was already right down
so we then adjusted the idle screw and the car still idles high, the revs barely dropped
could this be because i have removed my a/c and has sometin to do with that fcid?
wat else could it be? rooted acc valve?

ecu idle is only if the car is ideling too low and needs to be upped. the aac idle screw is wat determains hoe high the engine idles and how much air is bypassed. problem with yours is the screw can make so many turns without affecting its idle. from memory with the screw all the way in it should almost make your engine die where in your case it stays about 600rpm and yes boys the plug is diconnected. when plug dissconnected it does drop revs but not enough.
i think main prob is the aac valve as it is most likly clogged up with blow by. basically needs a clean out. that should hopefully make it tad more touchy and then be able to lower the revs to its minimum and let it idle a lot better.
