Hey guys, well my VN is having problems yet again, this time when i give it a kick in the guts it almost conks out, then out of nowhere just kicks n starts. Now when i turn the car off and back on, it starts better then a brand new car, and also my fuel pump takes aaaaaaaaaggggggeeeeeeeeeessssssssss to pump when i put it on the reds or when i turn it off. My mechanic replaced my altenator not long ago and tested it so i highly doubt its the altenator. While i'm at it, i also have a problem with my temperature, now i don't know if its the radiator or thermostat but im beginning to think its my sensors, just had a brand new water pump put in to. Basically i start it and the temperature goes right up to full in no time but the engine doesnt seem to be giving off heat at all and runs perfectly. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks

if your mechanic repaired your alternator did he change your battery? you might need to load test it. ie put a multimeter on it and see what the voltage is when you crank it. if it's below 10v i'd replace your battery.

alternator harness's love burning out on commodores v8 an v6 need to check voltage drop from alternator to battery also starter connections come loose the 13mm nut not the spade, but disconnect your battery before tightening unless you like welding spanners to your chassis check your thermostat is working for the temp problem warm the car up and see if both radiator hoses get hot when warmed up if one stays cool your thermostat is rooted if all good could be a dodgy sender its the one with a spade connection on front of manifold
