Hi, this question has probably been asked many times before but Ill ask once again.
Has anyone had or know of some who has run a redline hi-winder manifold on their 308 with vn heads?
Has it worked well? If so how well?
What power range is quoted for this manifold?
Does it work well low down in power range or high up top?
Would it be something you would recommend?
As I do not want to sit the filter out of the bonnet so clearance is essential.
thanks.
only ever seen one car with one in person and had a decent sized air cleaner (running one of the 4 barrel efi throttle bodies) and it fit under the bonnet easy, as u know its a low sitting single plane manifold.. and apparantly its rated at around 450-500hp.. would be rated higher than a harrop /torque power dual plane im sure but less than one of the bigger single planes. U can get em pretty cheap too if ur lucky to find one second hand
thanks for the feedback, good to hear they fit under the bonnet very easy. i've heard mixed things about these manifolds. i'm not chasing crazy power figures so it should work well in a street combo. thanks

Not to put anyone down but ive heard bad things about the performance of these manifolds...like the old redline torker manifolds for the carbys...these worked worse than a standard manifold. I know they fit easily but and they do look good...should be fine for a mild street aplication i would assume, providing your not chasing heaps of power...for the money id spend a little extra and buy something like torque powers dual plane manifold, providing you can afford it.
dunno about rating these below a dual plane.. dual planes are pretty restricted, the redline would have to be terrible to not be beaten one... id like to see graphs but too bad no-one ever made a comparison, actually i dont think there has ever been a comparison of holden efi manifolds on the market, thats the difference between us and someplace like america where u would find it in any magazine for chev comparisons for example.
yer i agree with sinister, i cant recall there ever being a comparison between holden efi manifolds. as said before many people have had mixed opinions about these manifolds. its intended for a mild street application so i believe it should work well. never been a fan of dual plane manifolds.
if there are any other options for a single plane, low rise manifold to suit VN heads please let me know.

I had a look around but never managed to find one. I was taught a long time ago that dual plane manifolds are better for a street application but from my experience the single planes are better, dyno runs prove that...
In saying that i know that harrops and torque powers dual plane manifolds are supposed to work extremely well. Im just a little biased from known experience with redline manifolds and what i have been told about this one. I have to admit though, it does look great.
