Na, that burnt too the ground. What the story is, My younger cousin bought a VC that had the conversion done. This soon burnt to the ground after the harness caught a-light. His brother works for bryants engineering up here and the the engine was soon reco'd and soon the box and ready for another doner car. He bought a vl with an aero kit for 500 bucks with a blown up rb30 and started preping rhe body for the engine. after a few months he gave up, bought an r33 skyline and sold me the engine, gearbox, tailshaft and custom exhaust for $3150.00. Worked well for me seening as the engine in my calais shat itself and ive taken over the project so to speak.
Engine specs:
Fully balanced bottom end (standard crank)
L34 rods, Arp rod bolts
Acl duralite pistons
Crow stage II cam
Crane lifters
standard pushrods
yella terra roller rockers
Vn heads decked ten thou, just had a clean up in ports, new valves, dual valve springs.
Will run around a 9:1 compression and expect about 220 kw at the fly. enough for a car i will drive nearly everyday.
Box is a fully reco'd stage II turbo 700, standard converter
Exhaust has custom extractors with a 3" Mandrel bent pipe and high flow cat
Not a drag engine, but as i say, ill have enough fun in it and i want to drive it nearly everyday so, wont guzzle heaps on fuel and will still go ok.

I'm putting an EFI 5.0L in a VK. Well, it's in there, but it needs to be wired up. I have no previous experience doing any electrical stuff really, but I'd be keen to give it a go. Would I be able install one of these kits myself do you think?

assuming u got one from the link above he makes them so the loom would just plug into your existing wiring system and then u just plug in your injectors, ignition, alternator e.t.c.... id say its fairly easy but havent done it before so dont hold me to that i dont think theres any soldering involved so in that case you're just plugging wires in so id say anyone with instructions should be able to pull it off..

Everything plugged straight in except for 4 wires going into the dash, (tacho, oil guage, temp guage and volts from alternator), one to the ignition, connect the wire from the fuel pump to the relay on the new loom and connect a constant power to the battery. Its so easy to spend the money then mostly plug everything straight in. I paid a bit extra for mine and he made it for me so only the engine wiring was in the engine bay, everything else is inside the cabin. It was very easy to install though. Im really impressed with the effort he put in. cant speak highly enough of it.
