First the Caliber, then in 6 months the Nitro.
Then another 4 unknown cars, one launched 6 months apart from the next.
So over the next 3 years, one Dodge will be launched in Australia every 6 months.
My guess is that the Charger, Magnum, Challenger and possibly Ram or Dakota will be the 4 unkown cars.
Caliber - this thing is about the size of a Lancer
Nitro
I actually think both of these look okay...... a bit on the weird side for what us Aussies are used to....... but I think that helps it.
Most people think they are pretty damn ugly though.
A Charger or Challenger in the line-up asap would help though.
Charger SRT8
Challenger
Magnum SRT8
Ram SRT10 (VIPER ENGINE!)

hell yes to the ram..............
They have actually done a half decent job to the challenger looks very good, still has a the defining lines of an old challenger, Would still prefer the original though. Unlike ford with the most recent design (1998 for example) Mustang.........TARDS.

10-08-06, 16:13 GMT+10#13 The challanger is awsome
But do we really want yank tanks????
From a economical perspective anything over 4 litres and 8 cyl is overkill in a scociety where 50-100% of driving is done in 40-60 zones.
The only people that need power are people than need to move heavy things e.g tradies, boats etc.
If we adopt the US love for petrol prices will be hitting $50/litre.
I think we need to concerve the worlds fuel because in 20 years there will be no oil left.
How big are some of these engines?????

10-08-06, 16:24 GMT+10#14 As you can see there the Challenger has a built in telemetry system. How cool!!
The Challenger/Charger will come in 5.7L and 6.1L variants. The 3.5L V6 is already found in most of Dodge's lineup so i'm pretty certain a V6 will be found in the Charger/Challenger also. Rumour has it that a 6.4L and a 6.6L will arrive soon, but the 6.6L will only be for racing purposes.

Maan I got no probs with big cars!
What I do have a problem with is the greedy ass government taxing the F*ck out of fuel at the moment the say the government is good for 70cents of that $1.50 a litre that we pay!

SRT8 models = 6.1L V8
SRT10 Ram = 8.3L V10
normal V8s = 5.7L V8
Caliber has a 2.4L inline 4 I think
Dont know what the Nitro has

10-08-06, 19:39 GMT+10#18 What I can tell you as a car lover and a student of economics is that the yanks are drinking fuel faster than they drink those super sized happy meals.
Oil is a limited commodity and from here on will only get more expensive. The government is taxing it higly but only so consumption can lessen. That is why ever cigarette is taxed 22c. Because the government doesnt want smokers because they cost the government when they get sick so they tax them highly to detter usage and so they can have resources to fund when they are sick with cancer and what not.
Fuel will hit $3/litre then 4 then 5 and the last couple of million litres will be $50 a litre. And the way the yanks use it up the world will struggle to find and alternative to support the demand.
In 2020 when china will be the most powerful economy and the US will be stating its decent to a 3rd world country it is estimated china will have 220 millions car. There is no way there will be any oil left by then.
The government should try and fund alternative fuels because LPG is also a limited commodity.
If everybody has 1.3L 4 cyl from now the oil will last at least 2 times longer.
So lets hope there will be a new fuel that will come ou soon or else we will be catching trains everywhere.

10-08-06, 22:21 GMT+10#19 I don't think 2020 China will have the most powerful ecomony, that is too soon, maybe 2030+
Even if we do run out of fuel, don't you think the money being profited now by selling high fuel consumption cars and jacking up prices, would lead to greater research for alternative fuels?
Because in the near future, I reckon large organisations (or car companies) will have the capacity to research/create new technology because they'll have the money to do so...
It's 99% about the $$$

10-08-06, 22:44 GMT+10#20 give me an 8.3L V10 ram.......... if I had money, I could care less how much fuel it uses, and how much its wasting for everyone else. Its gonna run out one day anyway, if it runs out sooner because I'm having fun... ahwell. haha
