Hey people im starting to rebuild my motor in my impala and i was wondering what type of pistons you would recomend, I have been told ceramic coated pistons are **** and i wont need forged becuase im not going supercharged or anything to extreem like that. I have been told that dome style pistons are good and raise compresion is this true? if not what would you recomend my use, by the way the motor is a 454 2main bolt big block Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Just use a Hypertechtic Flat top piston, that'll bring the compression up a little and I've used Hypers in a few motors and can't find anything wrong with them at all! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

as if you're gonna stop at a 454, spend a bit extra and get the forgies, slight dish bowl so the comp will be a tad low but still run great, BUT itll mean u can charge it later on Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
