hey all , was just wondering if a high volume oil pump would bennifit my motor more than the standard oil pump on a holden vr v8 ,just curoious because my friend has a JP high volume oil pump to suit my motor and is willing to sell it to me for the same price as what the normal one is going to cost me, as he does not need it anymore so wanted to know if it would be alright to use. Thanks .Pete.
a high volume oil pump is useless unless you have a HUGE HP motor and a massive sump around 8-9lts... on a standard motor and standard size sump it pumps all the oil up the top and cant get it back down fast enough

even on modified 5Ls they still have trouble with pumping too much oil up top. Stick with the standard pump, stock block will give you too many headaches with a high volume pump.

i learnt that the hard way bearings dont seem to like doing 6500 in third with no oil :/

we sell the JP standard and high volume oil pumps for holdens at work. If you are after one, pm me and i will let you know how much.. we buy HEAPS of them so they are pretty cheap to ct members!
