Hey all , does anyone know if lifters are supposed to be slightly rattly on a stage 3 regrind cam? had my head checked by my engine builder before puting it on and he said its in perfect condition, but its noisy all the time, its different to the usual Tap, Tap Tap noise, sounds like stones in a can, even at idle. cheers.

ill check my dizzy, plenty of oil pressure, got a gtr oil pump. oil type and amount dont make any difference, took the lifters out the other week, they all look new and in perfect con. yeah gets louder on revs, but doesnt sound like the normal sticky lifter problem though... im clueless about this.. lol! my bro's vl is at 350,000 and is dead quiet!

man stage 3 requires lifter blocks to be decked a bit to account for extra lift do this before you ruin your cam...

Im sure that was done from the cam shop when it was installed. it was done by Sure-Cam along with heavy duty springs etc. I'll see if i can find the papers to check. but its been like that for ages and the cam and lifters are still perfect cond.

what lifters are you running? If youre not running genuine Nissan than its more than likely your lifters. Heard nothing but complaints about aftermarket items. That includes myself. Genuine's are expensive ...but worth the peace & quiet. What would you spend to not hear ya misses complain???
