people have told me whiplash (a guy on this forum, from wa) gets the bits u need and installs it, for bloody good prices. one example i saw just recently looked good. had a pager system (upto 1km away) and 'all the works' Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

on a similar topic, with immobolisers, are they inbetween the ecu and ignition or do they just re route the ignition wires and have nothing to do with the ecu?

Immobilisers can be installed onto anything such as the ignition switch, fuel pump, distributor... All you have to do is get the right wires from the loom to either the ECU or similar, break the connection, and rewire it to run through the immobiliser.

yeah thanks, i just wondered if all immobilisers were the same or if there were different ones that hooked into all different wires, cos i think mine was just connected to the ignition as the theives that stole it only ripped out the ignition wires. as far as i was told my alarm/immobiliser was top of the range and i was pretty dissappointed to find out that it only re-routed the ignition wires. i thought it would disarm the ecu etc... and be impossible to start. i know it disarms the fuel pump:-)

all immobalisers work in the same way as do alarms which are an immobiliser with a siren. main differences are how there disarmed, can be via remote, proximity, push button, swipe, ect. main power feed to ignition pretty much disarms the whole lot. and thats what they prob did. only prob is that all you have to do is rejoin and it will bypass the immobiliser. i tend to go under the engine bay and make the break in the line. its a bit more confusing and harder to trace. if they cant find the break then they cant steal your car. thats the only thing that you have to do. theres only a certain number of things that you can bypass but the trick is to find a place they will never think to look
