Hi, ive been offered a Airesearch t04 turbo for free off of one of my mates, because it has chiped fins on the compressor wheel. There is basically no shaft play in it. so im guessing the rest of the turbo would be in good condition.
What type of money would i be looking at to get a new compressor wheel put on it and balanced? and can anyone suggest anyone who can do it for a good price.

ok that sounds like a good price if its around the mark
And just out of interest, can i put a t04 on a vlt with a stock ecu.
or will i HAVE to put an aftermarket system in first.

u can but u wont be able to run heaps of boost .
then if u buy a aftermarket ecu u will be able to max out the turbo and have some fun .
p.s and injectors cam fuel pump plenum etc etc and then u will have over 200rwkw

lol yer i realise i wont be able to run heaps of boost, cos the injectors will be on the limit.
but aslong as i can chuck it onto the manifold and be able to drive it, im happy for now.
it doesnt have an wastegate, so what do i do there? wat size? would i need, brand etc and price, can someone point me in the right direction there aswell.
thanks

you'll max out at 180rwkws with std injectors mate and even them i wouldnt leave it like that cause it will start to ping if you keep'em on there limit for too long.
just some advice mate id wouldnt push them over 170 max even then your pushing it.
