Hi guys, I heard that V8 Supercars will be attempting to organise a street race in Homebush to replace the Oran Park round, as Oran has been sold and is going to be turned into townhouses. The other rumour is that Oran park is going to be replicated a few km's away from it's current site, although I'd say this is less likely.. I'm hangin on some more info.. Anyone know anything? Found this on an F1 website. Looks like a few tracks might be doomed!! OUT: Oran Park (demolished), Albert Park (non-champ F1 support race on a rival network to channel 7), Pukehoe (too small, safety concerns), Winton (word is that a long-term future there is questionable). IN: Townsville (street circuit), Homebush (street circuit), Hamilton NZ (street circuit), Eastern Creek (despite the small crowds, I expect it to be back in future). Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Oran Park is a family owned business, I have read somewhere that the Manager has stated where to the track is being re-located to, it is going a little further south. He did post this info somewhere, I will try to track it down. As far as Winton is concerned, never believe what you hear, it has some of the best paddock facilites for the V8's of any permanent circuit in Australia, unfortunatley the gate numbers don't dictate to V8SCA where they should go, Winton has some of the best spectator numbers of any permanent track going. I have also heard that the article where the Homebush thing was talked about was a bit of a beat-up by the Journo concerned, the NSW Gvmt hasn't decided on anything is what I have heard.

Yea id love it to be at Homebush, just round the corner. And street circuits have always been popular in different forms of motorsport. If it does go ahead, will be a great boost for Sydney
